Always reliable for password management

Anyone else upgrade their LastPass account recently? I've been a free user for ages and finally decided to try LastPass Premium. The process was straightforward, just like I remember from when I first set up my account years ago. I appreciate that they offer partner offers via promo codes, though I just used one of their automated trial links for this upgrade. It's consistently proven to be a solid choice for keeping everything secure, which is why I keep coming back instead of switching to something like 1Password or Dashlane.

Easy to use, works well

Got LastPass Premium. Set it up quickly. Password Generator is handy. No issues with auto-fill. Works on all my devices. Happy with it.

Good value, minor hiccups

I signed up for LastPass Families last month and overall it's been a positive experience. The setup for the family manager was pretty intuitive, and inviting family members was simple enough. We're all using the Shared Folders feature and that's been a lifesaver for shared logins. The value for money is definitely there, especially with multiple users. My main gripe was with the mobile app; it sometimes takes a few extra seconds to auto-fill passwords compared to the browser extension, which is always super fast. It's not a deal-breaker, just a slight inconvenience now and then. Customer service was responsive when I had a billing question during the initial setup, so that was good.

Smooth upgrade, good features

I recently upgraded from LastPass Free to LastPass Premium. The process was straightforward, just clicked the upgrade option in my account and followed the steps. It took about 2 minutes. Immediately got access to the new features. Dark Web Monitoring is a nice addition, it's already flagged a couple of old accounts I forgot about. The Emergency Access setup was also easy to configure for my wife. I did have a small question about the desktop app syncing with the browser extension after the upgrade, so I used their online chat support. The agent was helpful and cleared up my confusion quickly. It's a solid service and the added features in Premium are worth it for the peace of mind. Delivery of the service, since it's digital, was instant.

Reliable as always

This is my third year with LastPass Business, renewing annually. It's consistently reliable for our team. The Admin Console is easy to navigate for user provisioning and managing policies. We rely heavily on the SSO for Business feature and it just works, every time. I've tried other solutions in the past, but LastPass has always been the most user-friendly for our less tech-savvy employees. Never had a major issue that couldn't be resolved with their support. It's why we keep coming back.

can you pay monthly or is it only annual billing? just trying to budget things out.

T Tara Beaumont 1 month ago
Pretty sure it's mainly annual for the paid plans. I haven't seen a monthly option for Premium myself.

AFAIK, the paid plans are almost always billed annually. It usually works out cheaper than if they did offer monthly, which they don't seem to for most subscriptions.

What's the real difference between this and Bitwarden? I'm trying to decide between the two and can't make up my mind.

R Raj F. 1 month ago
Bitwarden is open-source, which some people prefer for transparency. LastPass is more polished in its interface and has some features like advanced dark web monitoring that Bitwarden might not include in its free tier.

Honestly, LastPass feels a bit more user-friendly, especially for non-techy folks. Bitwarden is great and more affordable for sure, but I found LastPass easier to get set up and just 'works' more smoothly across all my devices.

Thinking of getting the Families plan, but how many people can actually use it? My household is pretty big.

C Chris Silva 1 month ago
The Families plan is for up to 6 people. Each person gets their own private vault and you can share stuff securely too.

It's six users, confirmed. My family uses it and it's super convenient for sharing things like Netflix logins or utility accounts without giving everyone full access to everything.

Do they ever have sales? Like for Black Friday or anything like that? Don't want to buy now if it's gonna be cheaper next month.

P Phil N. 1 month ago
Oh yeah, they totally do. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are usually big for them, I've seen 20-30% off annual plans then. Even around October/November in general.

They definitely have seasonal sales. Keep an eye out around the end of the year, that's when they seem to drop the biggest discounts, based on past years.

my browser extension keeps acting weird, is there a desktop app too? maybe that's more stable.

B Beth Okafor 1 month ago
Yeah, they totally have a desktop app for both Windows and Mac. I usually use that more than the browser extension actually, feels a bit more robust.

There's a desktop app for sure. I use it on my Mac and it integrates pretty seamlessly. Might be worth trying if your extension is giving you grief.
